Tryouts for the North Carolina National Tournament Team will take place on Sunday, April 28th at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina from 9:00am - 1:00pm. In order to make this tryout possible we need volunteers to serve as selectors. (For those unfamiliar with this tryout and tournament, please see additional information below.) If you would like to be a selector, please use the link provided to register. You must have a valid US Lacrosse membership in order to sign up. As someone who has served as a selector in the past, I can attest to the benefit of having a number of selectors from various schools and conferences not simply for fairness (it is required by US Lacrosse) but also for the perspective it brings. It is a great way to support the talented players in our state.
REGISTER HERE by April 20th to be considered as a tryout selector. The commitment requirement for the tryout is to attend the tryout in full. Lunch will be provided.
In addition, I sent an email blast to a number of high school athletes directly, but I ask that you please pass this information along to your players directly. This is a wonderful opportunity for exposure and competition - particularly for those players who DO NOT play club. It is a thrill and an honor to represent the state of North Carolina in a national event. Please stress to your players that pre-registration is required and late registrations and walk-ups on the day of the tryouts will not be accepted. Thank you for taking the time to consider assisting with this process - I sincerely hope to see you all out there on April 28th and hope that your teams are all well-represented at the tryouts. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly.

National Tournament Overview:
The Women's USL National Tournament is an annual tournament held in conjunction with the Women's DI Final Four. It is a great tournament for those aiming to play at the next level both in terms of visibility and competition. For all players, aiming to play at the next level or not, this is definitely an excellent resume builder as well. The tournament is a representation of regions/states rather than of club teams. So North Carolina will compete against selected teams, for example, from Philadelphia, Colorado, New Jersey, DC etc...the tryout logistics and selection process is set by USLacrosse and followed by the Selectors. One NC team of 22 players will be selected - if selected, there is a player fee of approximately $200 which covers the tournament fee, team practice, coaches, and uniform. Travel and lodging (group hotel available) is up to the individual.
